Connecticut Wedding Venues by Region: Greenwich, Litchfield Hills, the Shoreline and Hartford

Thirty Connecticut wedding venues grouped by region, from Greenwich and the Gold Coast to the Litchfield Hills, the Mystic shoreline, New Haven and Hartford, with Google ratings and ceremony start times for every month of 2027.

Connecticut is small enough to drive across in two hours and varied enough that a Greenwich harbor wedding and a Litchfield farm wedding share almost nothing except the sunset time. Here are the venues couples ask us about most in each part of the state, and the timeline numbers that apply to all of them.

The light, statewide

Connecticut is compact, so the sun sets within about four minutes of the same time everywhere in the state. These times are computed for Hartford on the 15th of each month in 2027; Greenwich runs three minutes later, Mystic a minute earlier.

March4:12 PM6:20 PM6:57 PM11.9 h

November1:45 PM3:48 PM4:30 PM9.8 h
December1:35 PM3:35 PM4:20 PM9.2 h

The start-ceremony column is sunset minus two hours and forty-five minutes, which leaves vows, family formals and a portrait walk inside golden hour. October, the most requested month in the Litchfield Hills, means a 3:30 ceremony. Couples who set a 5:00 October ceremony because it sounded right are photographing portraits in the dark.

Greenwich and the Gold Coast

The southwestern corner of the state is harbor, estate and club country, and several of the venues couples search for from Greenwich are actually across the line in Westchester. We list them anyway because that is where the searches go.

The Greenwich venue hub has all of them with pricing for each.

The Litchfield Hills

Farms, inns and a few of the most photographed properties in New England. This is where the October ceremony-time problem is most acute, because the foliage weekends fill first.

La Bella Vista4.7 (582)

Wood Acres Farm4.8 (229)
Winvian Farm4.6 (205)
South Farms4.7 (169)
Lost Fox Inn4.8 (146)

Winvian and Lost Fox are the two that couples describe to us as "the whole weekend," with guests on the property from Friday. That changes the timeline: a Friday welcome dinner is worth an hour of coverage on its own. More on the Litchfield hub.

Mystic and the shoreline

Vineyards and water. The Mystic area has a real sunset over the river and the Sound, and the vineyards inland get the long low light across the vines.

Saltwater Farm, in a converted airplane hangar on a vineyard in Stonington, is the one couples ask about most. Its own page is here, and the rest are on the Mystic hub.

Bill Miller's Castle4.8 (321)
New Haven Lawn Club4.6 (219)
Birchwoods Banquet Facility4.7 (168)

Bill Miller's Castle in Branford is a genuine oddity, an eclectic private castle, and it photographs unlike anything else on this list. New Haven hub.

Hartford and the river towns

The Barns at Wesleyan Hills4.7 (300)
The Pavilion on Crystal Lake4.8 (299)

Elizabeth Park's rose garden in West Hartford peaks in mid to late June, and the Pond House Cafe sits inside the park, which is why the two appear together on so many couples' lists. Saint Clements in Portland is on the Connecticut River and gets the evening light down the water. Hartford hub.

What we would do

For a summer wedding anywhere in the state, start the ceremony between 5:30 and 5:45 and walk out for portraits at 7:45. For a peak foliage Saturday in the Litchfield Hills, start at 3:30, do a first look at 1:30 so formals are done before the ceremony, and be outside with the last light at 5:30. Every venue above has its own page with the sunset table for that exact spot and our published pricing, which is the same at all of them.

Elizabeth Scott is an independent wedding photography and film studio. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any venue named here; venue names identify where couples marry. Ratings and review counts are Google's as of our last check and will change. Sunset and golden-hour times are computed for the 15th of each month in 2027; an outdoor ceremony in open shade can run 20 to 30 minutes later than the start times we suggest.
